Isabel May Joins 'Scream 7' as Ghostface's Next Target
Isabel May joins ‘Scream 7’ as Neve Campbell’s daughter! With Kevin Williamson directing, the film debuts Feb. 27, 2026.
The 1883 and Alexa & Katie actress Isabel May is about to become Ghostface’s new victim! According to THR, she is in talks to join Scream 7 as Neve Campbell’s daughter.
The movie will be directed by Kevin Williamson, who penned the first film back in 1996, as well as its 1997 sequel Scream 2, and, 14 years later, Scream 4 in 2011. This time, the story comes from Guy Busick, who co-wrote the 2022 Scream and Scream 6 with James Vanderbilt.
Previously, Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera were both attached to the project. Ortega left because it conflicted with her work on Wednesday, along with financial disputes. Meanwhile, Melissa Barrera was fired due to social media posts supporting Palestine, which her producers deemed antisemitic.
Christopher Langdon was formerly attached as the director, but the production faced several issues, ranging from SAG-AFTRA strikes to losing both Ortega and Barrera. In December 2023, he announced that he had left the project, which he described to on X as “a dream that turned into a nightmare.”
Fortunately, this year Neve Campbell made every Scream fan happy by announcing her return as Sidney in the next film. With Kevin Williamson now taking the director’s seat and a script by Busick, the project is finally coming together. With May on board, it’s starting to look more and more real.
May recently landed a role in Karoshi, an action thriller by Takashi Doscher starring May and Teo Yoo. She was also in talks to join the revenge thriller Wild World by Aaron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilla.
Scream 7 is set for a U.S. premiere on February 27, 2026, so it will be some time before we see any trailers. More updates to come!
