Nicholas Alexander Chavez, star of ‘Monsters’, shares his thoughts on the Menendez brothers’ second trial and new evidence.

Nicholas Alexander Chavez, one of the stars of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, is sharing his opinion on the second trial the Menendez brothers faced, People reports.

Chavez, who portrays Lyle Menendez in the limited series, supports renewed efforts to reconsider the Menendez brothers’ case. He believes they didn’t receive a fair second trial due to the exclusion of evidence related to sexual abuse allegations.

He argues that the 1996 trial wasn’t just because the judge didn’t allow evidence of abuse to be considered, which prevented a full exploration of why the brothers killed their parents.

Now, thanks to the show, the case is in the spotlight again, and an LA District Attorney is reviewing new evidence from the Menendez brothers’ defense team.

While the series is a huge success, Erik Menendez criticized the show for its inaccuracy and dishonest portrayal of Lyle. Chavez and his co-star Cooper Koch, who played Erik, both sympathize with the brothers, understanding the frustration over how the series depicts their story.

It remains unclear whether the new evidence will bring anything significant. We’ll just have to wait and see.
