Only one day left until the 2024 British Fashion Awards return at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. This annual event serves as a vital gathering for the global fashion community, celebrating both established icons and emerging talents.
The British Fashion Awards aren’t just a celebration of the next fashion stars, it also plays a crucial role as a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council (BFC) Foundation, which focuses on education and grants to support the future of British fashion.
This year, the event will once again be presented by renowed British TV host Maya Jama and musician Kojey Radical.
This year’s nominees really represent the diverse and innovative path the British fashion industry is taking. And, you can spot some of Combster-recognized rising stars too.
Some of the notable names include Grace Wales Bonner nominated for the British Menswear Designer of the Year; Helen Kirkum, who built her business on making new shoes from old ones, for British Accessories Brand; or Bianca Saunders nominated for the BFC Foundation Award, which recognizes the purpose of TFA by celebrating the current cohort of designers receiving support through one of Foundation’s core initiatives: BFC NEWGEN, BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, BFC/GQ Designer Fashion Fund and the BFC Fashion Trust.
The event also recognizes the next generation models, with nominees for the Model of the Year Award including Alva Claire, Anok Yai, Alex Consani, or Mona Tougaard.
