Rising pop star Gracie Abrams responds to a fan’s call to remove young musician Dora Jar as her opening act.

Gracie Abrams recently noticed a petition started by one of her fans opposing indie musician Dora Jar as the opening act for her tour.

According to the petition, some fans described Dora Jar’s music as a “downer,” pointing to her “slow tempos” as potentially ruining the concert experience. As a result, they demanded her removal from the lineup.

The Grammy-nominated star Gracie Abrams defended her choice of artist for the opening act,

“Just hearing about this absolute ridiculousness… so wildly uncool and bizarre and also just does not remotely add up,” Abrams wrote in response to the former petition that termed it "impossible to familiarize ourselves with her slow-paced songs.”

Abrams emphasized her deep admiration for Jar’s music and even encouraged fans to stream her entire discography, whether or not they plan to attend the concert.

On Sunday, Abrams addressed the criticism on her Instagram Stories, reaffirming that Jar will continue as her tour opener.
