English actor Emma D’Arcy, known for their role as Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon, just revealed that the third season of the series is back in production, sharing a clip from the first day on set!
The third season is set to feature some major events from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, like the famous Battle of the Gullet. This is an exciting sea battle where the Velaryon ships, led by Corlys Velaryon (also known as the Sea Snake), play a huge role.
D’Arcy is returning as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, alongside Olivia Cooke as Queen Alicent Hightower,
Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, and
Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon. Joining the cast as new characters are
Tommy Flanagan as Ser Roderick Dustin,
Dan Fogler as Ser Torrhen Manderly, and
James Norton as Lord Ormund Hightower.
The third season is expected to be followed by a fourth, which has been announced as the final season of the series. While there’s no specific release date yet, Season 3 is planned to premiere in 2026.
