Doechii’s new music video for ‘Denial Is a River’ is fueled by 90s nostalgia and cameo-packed scenes.

Doechii just dropped the music video for Denial Is a River, and fans are already living for it. This sitcom-inspired clip—co-directed by Carlos Acosta and James Mackel—throws it back to classic Black TV shows like Family Matters, even sampling the iconic theme, “As Days Go By.” Doechii stars front and center in her own autobiographical comedy, with guest spots from Zack Fox, Rickey Thompson, ScHoolboy Q, SiR, and more.

The single comes from her breakout mixtape Alligator Bites Never Heal, which hit No. 82 on the Billboard 200 and put her on the map as TDE’s first female rapper. She teased Denial with soap opera–style skits during shows like NPR’s Tiny Desk and The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. Plus, she’s racked up three Grammy nods, proving she’s no fluke.
