Connor Swindells joins a star-studded cast in The Entertainment System Is Down, a black comedy directed by Ruben Östlund.
It seems British actor Connor Swindells is about to rub shoulders with the big leagues! He’s joined the star-studded cast of the upcoming black comedy The Entertainment System Is Down.
THR reports that he’s joining Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, Daniel Brühl, Samantha Morton, Nicholas Braun, Tobias Menzies, Vincent Lindon, and others. Joel Edgerton was previously attached to the project but was later replaced by Menzies.
The Entertainment System Is Down follows a group of passengers on an airplane who must deal with the immense boredom caused by a malfunction in the plane’s entertainment system, leading to all kinds of problems bubbling up during the long trip.
Two-time Palme d’Or winner director Ruben Östlund, who also wrote the film, purchased a retired Boeing 747 for the filming, which just started. The shoot is planned to span over 70 days in Hungary.
Most recently, Swindells portrayed the villain Gessler in the historical drama William Tell, alongside Claes Bang, Golshifteh Farahani, Jonah Hauer-King, and Ellie Bamber. His other movie, a Christmas rom-com Jingle Bell Heist, starring Olivia Holt, Lucy Punch, and Peter Serafinowicz, is currently in production.
