Connor Swindells Is Back as Stirling in SAS: Rogue Heroes Season 2 – Launching This January!
It’s official! The second season of ‘SAS: Rogue Heroes’ premieres on New Year’s Day at 9 PM on BBC One and iPlayer.
The second season of SAS: Rogue Heroes will return to our screens earlier than expected! A new trailer released by the BBC promises that the second season will premiere at 9 PM on New Year’s Day on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Set two years after the first season, Connor Swindells reprises his role as Lieutenant David Stirling, who is in captivity in North Africa after being captured by Axis forces in the season one finale. Jack O’Connell, as Lieutenant Paddy Mayne, steps up as the leader of the SAS—a move that sparks some skepticism within the regiment.
What raises questions is the fact that the real David Stirling spent the rest of the war in captivity, despite multiple escape attempts. Will the series stick to history, or will Swindells’ Stirling meet a different fate? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Returning alongside Swindells and O’Connell are Sofia Boutella, Dominic West, and Jacob Ifan. Season two will also introduce a few new characters: Gwilym Lee as Bill Stirling, David’s brother; Con O’Neill as General Sir Bernard Montgomery; Mark Rowley as Corporal Jock McDiarmid; and Jack Barton as Lieutenant John Tonkin. Joining them are Stuart Thompson, Paolo De Vita, Anna Manuelli, Edward Bennett, and Matteo Franco, cast in undisclosed roles.
Filming for the second season took place in Croatia, Italy, England, and Scotland, spanning six months from May to September 2023.
Earlier last month, a trailer for the second season dropped, leaving us eager for more. What didn’t help was the lack of an official release date, with only a vague “Coming soon” message. Now, with a second trailer, we have confirmation: 9 PM on New Year’s Day. It seems 2025 is set to kick off with a bang!
