Combster's LFW Designer Spotlight: Steven Stokey–Daley

Drawing inspiration from the nostalgic representations of homo-socialism in classics like “Brideshead Revisited” and “Maurice,” Stokey-Daley’s work reflects his own experiences as a working-class Liverpudlian juxtaposed against the elite backdrop of Harrow, where he studied.
London-based designer Steven Stokey-Daley has quickly made a name for himself in the fashion world since graduating from the University of Westminster in 2020.
His debut collection, titled The Inalienable Right, premiered for AW20 and delved into the intricate relationship between British class culture and access to the arts in education.
Under his brand S.S.DALEY, Stokey-Daley has garnered significant recognition, winning the prestigious LVMH Prize in June 2022.
His innovative approach to menswear and womenswear, characterized by dramatic silhouettes and meticulous attention to detail, has attracted attention from high-profile figures, including Harry Styles.
Stokey-Daley’s collections are not just about aesthetics; they explore deeper themes of British aristocracy and class through the lens of uniform and attire.
For his work, Stokey–Daley has been awarded the British Fashion Council Award for Best Emerging Fashion Designer at the 2022 British Fashion Awards and recognized as the Guest Designer for Pitti Uomo 105 in January 2024.
