Austin Butler’s 'Caught Stealing' Drops Its Release Date—And It’s Replacing a Major Horror Movie!
Austin Butler’s ‘Caught Stealing,’ directed by Darren Aronofsky, gets a release date after Sony delays the new ‘Insidious’ film.
Austin Butler’s upcoming crime thriller Caught Stealing finally gets a release date! Sony has decided to postpone the release of the new Insidious movie, and in its place, Caught Stealing will hit theaters on August 29.
Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film follows Hank Thompson, a former baseball pro played by Butler, who becomes entangled with the mob in 1990s New York City—all because of a cat and a fat stash of cash. As his world spirals into chaos, Hank must fight for his life, pushed to his limits and forced to do whatever it takes to survive.
Alongside Butler, the cast includes Zoë Kravitz as Yvonne, Regina King as Roman, Matt Smith as Russ, Will Brill as Jason, Bad Bunny as Colorado, and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai as Dale, among others. Filming began on September 5, 2024, in New York City.
Most recently, Butler starred as Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen in Dune: Part Two and is set to appear in Ari Aster’s upcoming Western black comedy Eddington, alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Emma Stone.
