Isabella Pappas, the Olivier Award-nominated British-Italian actress, recently shared a trailer for “Stranger Things: The First Shadow” on her Instagram. This exciting new play, written by Kate Trefry from an original story by the Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Trefry, dives into the events that precede the popular TV series "Stranger Things."
Set in the nostalgic backdrop of Hawkins, 1959, the play has already captivated audiences at the Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End, where Pappas stars as Joyce Maldonado, the character fans have come to love as Joyce Byers in the TV series, originally portrayed by Winona Ryder.
The production’s success has paved the way for its scheduled transfer to Broadway in 2025. Pappas’ post is a proof of the ongoing expansion of the beloved “Stranger Things” universe into the realm of live theater.
