Alex Guzman, also known as Blesiv (born in Reno, Nevada in 2001), shared photos from the Cinco de Mayo (“Fifth of May”) celebrations on Instagram. Dressed in a traditional Mexican poncho and sombrero, Guzman showcased his enthusiasm for the holiday, which commemorates Mexico’s triumph over France in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, where Mexicans, with material aid from the United States, defeated the French forces.
Cinco de Mayo, which is more widely celebrated in the United States than in Mexico, celebrates Mexican-American culture. The post in which Guzman shared joyful photos with his friends garnered over 44,800 likes in just three hours.
