Sophie Thatcher Resists Control as Jack Quaid Jailbreaks Her in 'Companion'
Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid star in a twisted sci-fi thriller. The new ‘Companion’ trailer reveals shocking truths.
Sophie Thatcher and Jack Quaid are about to show you a dynamic you haven’t seen before in their upcoming movie Companion. The first trailer for the film was just released, revealing more of the plot and clarifying what the movie will be about.
It was obvious that something was wrong between Quaid and Thatcher’s characters, judging by the first teaser released three months ago. In it, Thatcher’s Iris seemed like a hostage to Quaid’s Josh, as she was handcuffed to her chair when dinner was served. The teaser then showed a series of violent and confusing shots, suggesting that Iris escaped from Josh and went on to take her revenge on him and everyone involved.
Now, with the official trailer out, things are starting to make more sense—but they are quite different from what they initially seemed. The trailer reveals that Iris is actually a sex bot being exploited by Josh. Things go wrong when Josh tries to jailbreak Iris, who then goes on a bloody rampage. She also appears to have Josh’s controller, which she uses to enhance her intelligence, becoming an unstoppable menace.
Companion is described as a sci-fi psychological thriller, but the new trailer also features some humorous moments, promising a grim, bloody, yet hilarious ride. Besides Thatcher and Quaid, Companion also features Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén and Rupert Friend.
The film was originally slated for release on January 10, but it has been postponed to January 31—so mark your calendars. You won’t want to miss this one!
