The nominees for this year’s BAFTA Rising Star Award are finally here, bringing new faces into the spotlight on their way to stardom!
Marisa Abela, Jharrel Jerome, David Jonsson, Mikey Madison, and Nabhaan Rizwan are in the competition for the award. The nominees were announced by Jack O’Connell at a recent press conference in London.
The 2018 Rising Star Award winner Letitia Wright, last year’s winner Mia McKenna-Bruce, and actor, writer, and director Will Sharpe were among those involved in selecting the nominees.
This year, the award is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its beginning in 2005, when James McAvoy took home the first award. It’s the only EE BAFTA Film Award voted by the British public.
