Joseph Quinn Takes a Villainous Leap in 'Gladiator 2', Inspired by Film Legends!
Joseph Quinn transforms into a notorious villain in Gladiator II, inspired by cinema’s darkest characters.
Joseph Quinn, celebrated for his performance in Stranger Things 4, is set to portray a formidable antagonist in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II. In an interview with Empire, Quinn revealed he drew inspiration from iconic villains like Gary Oldman in The Fifth Element and Philip Seymour Hoffman in Mission: Impossible III to craft his character, one of the twin Emperors.
Alongside Fred Hechinger, Quinn aims to embody Geta with a unique blend of madness and malevolence. The duo’s interpretation steers clear of comparisons to Joaquin Phoenix’s memorable role in the original Gladiator, instead channeling the mythical essence of Romulus and Remus.
Scott’s description of the twins as “bred from the milk of a wolf” hints at a portrayal rich in brutality and complexity. As filming progresses, anticipation builds for Quinn and Hechinger’s fresh take on imperial villainy in this highly anticipated sequel.
