Angourie Rice returns for ‘The Last Thing He Told Me’ Season 2, now filming, while balancing exciting new projects!

The Last Thing He Told Me starring Angourie Rice and Jennifer Garner is back with a fresh update from the set—the second season of the thriller series has just started production!

Jennifer Garner, who plays Hannah Hall in the series, took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes clip featuring herself, Rice, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau posing near a trailer with a sign that reads Hannah Hill.

Originally intended as a miniseries based on Laura Dave’s novel, The Last Thing He Told Me has been renewed for a second season. Dave is currently finishing her second novel, set to be released sometime next year, which will serve as the basis for the new season. If you want to thank someone for the second season, it’s her—and Apple TV+ for greenlighting it earlier this year.

Dave also revealed that production for the second season began even before the novel’s release. She had to sit down with the team to explain where the story is headed, ensuring everyone is on the same page and knows what to expect.

Filming for the first season began on May 3, 2022, and the show premiered on April 14, 2023. If production has just started, we can likely expect the second season to premiere around November next year.

Angourie Rice, meanwhile, has been busy with other projects. She was recently spotted filming the romantic comedy CC: Emily with Spike Fearn, and her upcoming film Steal Away wrapped production in July, slated for release in 2025 alongside CC: Emily. Did you know that besides acting, Angourie also recently published a book she co-wrote with her mom, Kate?
