Angourie Rice wraps filming on a provocative new thriller that promises to showcase her in a daring, previously-unseen role.

Angourie Rice is set to star in the upcoming Canadian-Belgian psychological thriller Steal Away, directed by Clement Virgo. The film, which recently completed principal photography in Belgium, features Rice as Fanny, a naive teenager whose life takes an intense turn when she forms a bond with a mysterious refugee named Cécile.

Rice shared her excitement on Instagram, expressing her fondness for the Steal Away team and anticipation for the film’s release. The story, based on Karolyn Smardz Frost’s non-fiction book, explores themes of desire, jealousy, and hidden truths in a seemingly benevolent world.

The cast also includes Mallori Johnson, Lauren Lee Smith, and Idrissa Sanogo Bamba. Steal Away is expected to hit Canadian theaters in late 2025, with WME Independent handling U.S. and international sales.
