Aimee Lou Wood Says Bikinis Were Harder Than Sex Scenes on 'The White Lotus' Season 3

The third season of The White Lotus aired its final episode on Sunday. Ahead of the premiere, Chelsea actress Aimee Lou Wood reflected on her experience filming the show.

In an interview with The Sun, Wood revealed that she was more nervous about filming scenes in a bikini than sex scenes:

“I was more nervous about bikinis than sex scenes. I was more worried about just being around the pool because I feel like that’s when you’re thinking more about how you look. Whereas… in an intimate scene, it’s about the intimacy.”

Wood has previously spoken about her struggles with body image, along with being diagnosed with ADHD and exhibiting autistic traits. She also shared with The Sunday Times the difficulties she faced growing up:

“I was almost mute, very socially anxious. I couldn’t sit down and eat a meal. My mum had to leave food around the house and I’d have to snack around. Now I know it was neurodivergence.”

Reflecting on her time filming The White Lotus, she said the thing she missed most was having a kitchen. She added that she wanted to walk to the shop, buy groceries, and cook a meal—simple routines that affected her self-esteem, saying she didn’t feel like she was being “a normal person.”

As Season 3 of The White Lotus wraps up, Wood is now gearing up for the release of her new TV series Film Club, which she co-wrote with Ralph David and stars in alongside Suranne Jones, Nabhaan Rizwan, Adam Long, and Liv Hill.
