Two days after Miss USA 2023 Noelia Voigt (born 1999) resigned from her title (citing personal well-being reasons), Miss Teen USA 2023 UmaSofia Srivastava (born 2007) announced her resignation via Instagram on May 8th. In her statement, she mentioned, “I’ve decided to resign as I find that my personal values no longer fully align with the direction of the organization.”
She also thanked for the support she received from family, fans, and other supporters. Srivastava pledged to continue collaborating with charitable organizations. According to People, the organizers of Miss Teen USA wished her well and announced that they would soon reveal the coronation date of her successor. Miss USA first took place in 1952, while Miss Teen USA (where girls aged 14 - 19 compete) began in 1983.
