Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ movie wraps filming, bringing the popular video game series to life with Sophie Wilde leading the cast.

Ubisoft’s Twitter feed lit up with big news - the Watch Dogs movie has officially wrapped filming. Director Mathieu Turi and writers Christie LeBlanc and Victoria Bata wrote an original story set in the game’s universe.

Sophie Wilde, fresh from her acclaimed performance in the 2022 horror Talk to Me, takes the lead role. She’s joined by rising stars Tom Blyth and Markella Kavenagh.

Cinematographer Daniele Massaccessi kicked off principal photography on July 3, 2024. Now, as the project enters post-production, fans can only guess how the game’s hacking mechanics and urban action will translate to the big screen.

This adaptation is another ambitious attempt to bring a popular gaming franchise to cinema. As with any video game adaptation, success is never guaranteed, but the talent involved suggests Watch Dogs might have a fighting chance at cracking the code.
