Sabrina Carpenter’s Fortnite collab with the ‘Caffeinated’ Emote was meant to be a win, but it quickly turned into a heated debate.

Last week, Fortnite dropped the Emote featuring Sabrina Carpenter’s track Espresso, but instead of the original, players got hit with a sped-up version. Fans weren’t happy, and neither was Epic Games.

Highlights:

  • Fortnite removed Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Caffeinated’ Emote after backlash over a sped-up version of her song Espresso.
  • Epic Games announced the Emote’s return with the original track alongside Fortnite’s new season.
  • Some players are requesting a separate Emote featuring the popular sped-up version.
  • The Fortnite community remains divided between fans of the original and the faster version of the song.

After the backlash, Epic deleted the Emote from the game less than 24 hours after launch. They promised to keep players in the loop, and now, a week later, they’ve announced via @FortniteStatus that the ‘Caffeinated’ Emote is coming back with the OG version of Espresso to match Fortnite’s new season drop.

Here’s the kicker: a bunch of players are actually vibing with the sped-up version and are asking Epic to bring it back as a separate Emote. There’s even speculation that the fast track was on purpose since Fortnite has used sped-up tracks before, like with the Starlit Emote and Aaron Smith’s Dancin.

The Fortnite fandom is still split. Some are hyped for the original track, while others are loving the extra energy from the faster version. Whether both Emotes will drop remains to be seen, but either way, this collaboration is keeping Fortnite players talking.
