In a clip shared by MTV, the lead actress, Keke Palmer, and the show’s producer, Issa Rae, shared their favorite tunes.
Keke’s pick is Mutt by rising rap star

Issa Rae was vibing to 
Elmiene’s Why (Spare Me Tears). We have to admit, their selection is on fleek, as these are some of our favorite rising talent in the game.
Directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton, the new show is a tribute to the kind of '90s hood comedies that defined the era, like Friday (1995) and The Players Club (1998).
