Robert Eggers’ ‘Nosferatu’ remake, starring Lily-Rose Depp and Bill Skarsgård, teases audiences with eerie new posters.

The upcoming Nosferatu remake by Robert Eggers, starring Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, and Nicholas Hoult, is just one month away from its release. To tease us further, new posters for the film have been unveiled on X, along with a short teaser.

While the eerie teaser doesn’t reveal anything new compared to the trailer released in July, the posters offer a fresh look at Lily-Rose Depp as Ellen Hutter, the woman who becomes the object of Count Orlok’s obsession.

Orlok is portrayed by the legendary Bill Skarsgård, who appears in the shadows behind Lily-Rose Depp’s Ellen in one poster, wearing a fur coat. His haunting silhouette is also featured in another poster, accompanied by a mysterious symbol against an almost entirely black background.

The final poster reveals Orlok’s vampiric hand, with long, sharp nails, caressing Ellen’s terrified face. The team behind Nosferatu is clearly determined to keep Orlok’s full appearance a secret. He is shown only as a silhouette—or through fragments, such as his hand—in both the trailer and the posters released so far. A similar strategy was recently used for Nic Cage’s role in Longlegs, and it worked successfully.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about keeping Orlok’s appearance under wraps, Bill Skarsgård shared:

“I think the best way to discover Orlok is through the movie for the first time. The movie functions on that, as well. He lives in the shadows for a long time, and it teases the reveal of the character as the movie progresses.”

With Nosferatu, Lily-Rose Depp aims to prove her critics wrong. Despite her privileged background, she has emphasized her dedication to hard work. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she mentioned that skepticism about her abilities only fuels her determination. She added that she has felt surrounded by people expecting her to fail since childhood.

Depp also revealed that working with Robert Eggers was a “bucket list” goal, and she hadn’t anticipated landing such a significant role in the film.

In addition to Depp and Skarsgård, Nosferatu features a stellar cast, including Nicholas Hoult as Thomas Hutter, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Friedrich Harding, Emma Corrin as Anna Harding, Willem Dafoe as Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz, Ralph Ineson as Dr. Wilhelm Slevers, and Simon McBurney as Herr Knock.

Nosferatu premieres on December 25—don’t forget to grab your tickets!
