Naomi Ackie Joins Audible’s 'Becoming Meg Dashwood' Sequel to 'Sense and Sensibility'

Naomi Ackie joins Audible’s ‘Becoming Meg Dashwood’, a bold ‘Sense and Sensibility’ sequel led by Emma Thompson.
Naomi Ackie is joining the cast of Becoming Meg Dashwood, an upcoming Audible Original that revisits the world of Sense and Sensibility, according to Deadline. The audio drama is a sequel to the classic Jane Austen story, this time focusing on Margaret Dashwood, the youngest sister. Ackie plays Nelly, a central character and the love interest of Meg Dashwood, portrayed by Adolescence star
Erin Doherty.
The project is produced by Emma Thompson, who returns as the older version of Margaret and previously won an Oscar for writing the 1995 film adaptation. Directed by Jo Tyabji and written by Rebecca Humphries, the drama brings a modern, more liberated lens to Austen’s world, exploring themes like identity, friendship, and sexuality.
Ackie, a BAFTA winner known for roles in Mickey 17 and Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, joins a cast that also includes Jessica Gunning,
Imelda Staunton,
Liz Carr, and
Greg Wise. The audio series will launch exclusively on Audible.
