Mena Massoud Delivers an Intimate First Look at 'Wish You Were Here'
Actor Mena Massoud debuts ‘Wish You Were Here,’ a new film adaptation, with Julia Stiles making her big directorial bow.
Canadian actor Mena Massoud, known for playing Aladdin in the 2019 live-action adaptation of Aladdin, took to his Instagram to offer the first look at his upcoming romantic film Wish You Were Here.
The first two pictures show Massoud and his co-star Isabelle Fuhrman embracing, hinting at the romance the film will center around. The third picture offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse with director Julia Stiles giving instructions to the cast.
Wish You Were Here is based on Renée Carlino’s best-selling novel of the same name. It follows Charlotte, a young woman who feels lost in life and is searching for purpose. One day, she meets a charming artist who is terminally ill and decides to help him in any way she can.
The movie is directed by American actress Julia Stiles, who is making her directorial debut with this project. In addition to Massoud and Fuhrman, the film also features Jimmie Fails, Kelsey Grammer, and Jennifer Grey, among others.
Massoud’s most recent work includes starring in the horror film The Sacrifice Game alongside Olivia Scott Welch and Gus Kenworthy, as well as providing the voice for Patrick in the animated film Butterfly Tale. He also hosted the TV series Evolving Vegan, for which he is nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Host in a Lifestyle Program or Series.
The filming of Wish You Were Here wrapped in February this year, so it’s very possible that we will get to see it sometime in 2025!
