JPEGMAFIA Drops New Controversial Music Video 'PROTECT MY CROSS'

JPEGMAFIA releases a scandalous new single along with a theatrical music video amid Trump’s inauguration.

JPEGMAFIA’s new single PROTECT MY CROSS is supposedly the lead track from his upcoming deluxe edition LP I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU (DIRECTOR’S CUT).

First and foremost, the music is crazy! Like, who mixes rap with heavy metal? JPEGMAFIA does! It’s hard to imagine these two quite opposing genres mixed together, but the musician manages to create the ultimate rollercoaster with them.

As we watch the music video, it is evident it’s all about patriotism. We see an American flag in every other shot, and the rapper is dressed in cowboy attire.

However, JPEGMAFIA noted that this is not an endorsement of any kind. In fact, he says, “2025, your politics is a gang sign,” which is a clear indication of his opposition to current American leadership.

Funny enough, JPEGMAFIA posted a guide to his lyrics to eliminate some of the misinterpretations.

As a former serviceman, exploring the topic of patriotism is a natural progression for the artist. Thus far, he claims that this project is “the most American thing" he has done since his time in the military.

Interestingly, the track is released as Trump becomes the new president of the United States. Coincidence? You bet.
