Joy Crookes has released her new single “Perfect Crime,” marking her first new music release since her 2021 debut album Skin. The track showcases Crookes’ soulful energy and incredibly catchy lyrics — the two components that might put the artist back in the spotlight.
Co-produced by Blue May and Harvey Grant, Perfect Crime explores themes of love, guilt, and self-reflection. Crookes describes the song as “a confession of sorts,” capturing the complexities of human relationships with raw honesty.
The artist shared a little story behind the new single:
“Perfect Crime is written about that scary bit of time just before you go back into the dating world…it’s being a couple of pints deep at the pub with your mate and making the hinge profile. That’s the essence of this song…filling in the prompts and going live.”
