Josh O'Connor and 'Ratatouille' Rumors Crushed by Pixar Boss
Josh O’Connor won’t be starring in a live-action Ratatouille, as Pixar’s Pete Docter reveals the studio’s stance on remakes.
Josh O’Connor’s striking resemblance to Linguine from Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille had fans buzzing about a potential live-action remake. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed when Pixar’s chief creative officer Pete Docter addressed the rumors.
Docter revealed to Time that he isn’t a fan of live-action remakes, stating, “I like making movies that are original and unique to themselves.” The idea of translating animated stories to live-action, especially those involving CGI rats, didn’t appeal to him.
This decision also affects potential remakes of other Pixar classics like Up, The Incredibles, and Inside Out. However, fans can still look forward to exciting new projects from Pixar. Pete Docter hinted at an Inside Out TV show for Disney+ and confirmed the development of Toy Story 5. While a live-action Ratatouille isn’t on the horizon, Pixar continues to innovate with fresh and engaging content.
