Fallout and Yellowjackets star Ella Purnell recently opened up about a ‘near-death experience’ during an interview with Mythical Kitchen.
When asked how often she thinks about death, she joked with interviewer Josh Scherer, saying he probably thinks about it more often than she does. Ella admitted she’s naturally scared of death, and followed with a story about a close call that nearly cost her her life.
She shared that she had fallen down the stairs, suffered a concussion, and hit her head near her eye, which left a scar. She almost went blind!

Despite the accident, Ella said it had a positive impact on her life. She feels much happier now and has made several changes, like learning to say ‘no’ more often to focus on things that genuinely bring her joy. She also realized she’d been neglecting her friends and family, so she now tries to prioritize them more.
Since then, Ella has booked spontaneous holidays, gone on a girls’ trip, and started enjoying life more. Considering how busy she was last year, it’s safe to say she deserved it—maybe even more!
