How Duran Lantink's Upcycled Fashion Earned Him the Woolmark Prize

Last night in Milan, the prestigious 2025 International Woolmark Prize was awarded to the rising Dutch designer Duran Lantink.
Known for his bold silhouettes and upcycled designs, Lantink has captured the fashion world’s attention with his unique approach to sustainability.

The award recogizes rising fashion stars, investing in their creativity and nurturing their talent. Among this year’s finalists were also up-and-coming names like Rachel Scott of Diotima,
Ester Manas, or
Louis Gabriel Nouchi.
The eight emerging designers have been building their latest collections using Merino wool. And Lantink especially impressed the judges with his ability to use this material to redefine traditional Dutch knitting techniques in a modern way.
His recent collection, presented during Paris Fashion Week, called Duranimals explored the theme of “form as style,” featuring animal prints and striking 3D reconstructed knitwear.

The award was presented by some of the fashion industry’s icons Donatella Versace and
Ib Kamara.
