The series, set to premiere on September 5, 2024, depicts a heist that takes place on the night of Ali’s return to the ring in 1970.
In an Instagram post, Darden described the emotional and physical challenges he faced in embodying the legendary boxer, including gaining 15 pounds for a callback. Darden’s portrayal of Ali will appear alongside stars like Kevin Hart, Samuel L. Jackson, and Taraji P. Henson in a series that promises to deliver an exciting spectacle and recall the iconic moment when Muhammad Ali returned to the world of professional boxing.
