Daisy Edgar-Jones shared her thrilling experience of preparing for and filming Twisters, directed by Lee Isaac Chung, in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla. Playing the role of Kate Cooper, Edgar-Jones underwent a rigorous “weather boot camp” with her castmates, led by storm consultant Kevin Kelleher at The National Weather Service Center.
The preparation included learning about tornadoes from expert meteorologists and interviewing real storm-chasers. Describing the filming as the wildest thrill ride, Edgar-Jones recounted intense scenes, including one where a crane dropped a horse trailer during a tornado sequence and another where she was strapped into a car spun upside down.
Her dedication to authenticity extended to mastering technical jargon and the regional accent. Twisters, a sequel to the 1996 hit Twister, stars Glen Powell alongside Edgar-Jones and is set to hit theaters on July 18, 2024. Fans eagerly await this adrenaline-pumping film that promises a direct encounter with nature’s most destructive forces.
