Courtney Eaton and Sophie Nélisse to star in ‘Girl in Pieces’, a film based on Kathleen Glasgow’s bestselling novel.

Courtney Eaton and Sophie Nélisse, known for their breakout roles in Yellowjackets, are teaming up for Girl in Pieces, a film adaptation of Kathleen Glasgow’s bestselling novel. The project is being produced by The Space Program, an independent film company based in New York, with Eaton and Nélisse also joining as co-producers.

According to Variety, Girl in Pieces follows Charlie Davis, a teenager recently released from a psychiatric ward after a suicide attempt. Moving to Tucson, Arizona, she tries to rebuild her life while coping with trauma, self-harm, and homelessness. Her efforts are complicated by a toxic relationship with a local musician and the unexpected return of a friend from the psych ward.

The novel has stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for over three years and gained a large following on BookTok for its honest portrayal of mental health struggles.

Eaton recently starred in Parachute, winning Best Performance at SXSW, while Nélisse was seen in Sundance comedy Two Women and will appear next in Whistle.

The film is one of several projects from The Space Program, which recently premiered The Plague at Cannes and is also developing Pure, directed by The Bear’s Catherine Schetina. A release date for Girl in Pieces has not been announced.
