Combster's PFW Designer Spotlight: Vincent Pressiat
Pressiat believes that fashion can be a powerful tool for self-expression and empowerment, especially in challenging times.
Vincent Garnier Pressiat is an innovative designer who launched his eponymous brand, Pressiat, in March 2021.
Characterized by its no-gender ethos, Pressiat embodies a chic and provocative Parisian elegance, inviting both men and women into a realm where societal inhibitions dissolve.
The brand’s aesthetic celebrates joy and self-confidence while intertwining elements of melancholy, craftsmanship, architecture, and the vibrant world of nightlife.
Despite being a relatively new player in the fashion industry, the brand has quickly garnered attention from prestigious publications such as WWD, Harper’s Bazaar, and US Vogue, which recognize Pressiat as one of the avant-garde designers to watch.
His collections resonate with a modern sensibility while drawing inspiration from the darker aesthetics of the Victorian era and the bold styles of the 1970s.
Vincent Garnier Pressiat’s journey into fashion began at a young age, influenced by his mother, a fashion teacher, and his grandfather, a skilled tailor. This early exposure ignited his passion for design and craftsmanship.
After graduating from the esteemed Chambre Syndicale de la Haute-Couture, he honed his skills at iconic fashion houses such as Balmain, Saint Laurent, and Maison Margiela, where he worked closely with John Galliano.
With a unique blend of historical influences and a contemporary approach, Vincent Pressiat is carving out a significant niche in the fashion landscape.
Pressiat will present his latest SS25 collection called Burning Era at the Paris Fashion Week on Monday, September 23.
