Combster's NYFW Designer Spotlight: ZANKOV
Launched in 2020, the brand aims to establish a distinct visual language in fashion and textiles, focusing on the interplay of color, shape, and pattern.
ZANKOV is an innovative fashion brand founded by Henry Zankov, a Russian-born designer based in New York City. Zankov’s approach combines natural and technical fibers to create garments that feature clean, minimal designs while showcasing meticulous craftsmanship. This innovative vision earned him recognition as a runner-up in the 2023 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
Henry Zankov’s background in design and fine arts is evident in his work, as he draws inspiration from his fascination with color and art.
His knitwear collection is built on an adventurous graphic lexicon, emphasizing bold colors and unique silhouettes that challenge traditional notions of fashion. Zankov’s designs reflect a commitment to quality and creativity, making a significant impact in the contemporary fashion landscape.
Before launching his own brand, Zankov held design positions at several prestigious brands under LVMH and consulted for various emerging and established designers across New York and Europe.
In addition to focusing on ZANKOV, Henry is actively involved in fostering the next generation of designers through teaching at Parsons School of Design and collaborating with emerging talents in both New York and Europe.
Zankov will be presenting at the NYFW on Monday, September 9.
