Drawing inspiration from generations of talented women in her family, Alejandra is a fourth-generation hand-knitter who utilizes both traditional and experimental knitting techniques to create unique, collectible pieces.

Alejandra Alonso Rojas is a Madrid-born designer whose work beautifully marries Spanish tradition with modern sophistication, reflecting her journey as a pioneer in casual luxury.

Based in New York City, her designs embody a rich heritage while catering to the needs of contemporary women. Educated at prestigious institutions such as IADE, Central Saint Martins, and Parsons School of Design, Alejandra has honed her craft through rigorous training, culminating in a master’s degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.

Her keen eye for tailoring and couture details, developed during her apprenticeship with a master tailor, allows her to produce garments with impeccable cuts and finishes. Each piece is crafted from the finest materials, showcasing her commitment to quality and artistry.

Alejandra’s collections are characterized by their timelessness, eschewing fleeting trends in favor of versatile designs that can transition seamlessly from day to night. Her signature styles feature a synergy of contrasting textures, where hand-crocheted elements blend with buttery soft leathers and chunky knitwear. This thoughtful layering creates pieces that are not only elegant but also practical for the modern woman.

Sustainability is at the heart of Alejandra’s practice. She employs natural hand-dyeing techniques and crafts cashmere from recycled fibers, working closely with artisans in small-scale factories.

Alejandra Alonso Rojach will be presenting at the NYFW on Wednesday, September 11.
