Greta Gerwig reportedly pitched the idea for a sequel to the hit movie Barbie to Warner Bros., a concept she developed with her husband, Noah Baumbach. While the plot details remain under wraps, two sources shared this information with The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the publication, the proposal received a warm reception, sparking initial discussions about production. However, representatives for Warner Bros. and Gerwig dismissed the claims, calling them “inaccurate”.
For now, any progress on a sequel seems unlikely. Baumbach is occupied with post-production on his upcoming Netflix film starring George Clooney, Adam Sandler, and Patrick Wilson. Meanwhile, Gerwig is gearing up to direct a new adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia.
