This isn’t your run-of-the-mill sitcom, folks. Wood’s serving up pregnancy chaos with a side of daddy drama, and viewers are eating it up. The show’s debut had BBC3 execs popping champagne - biggest comedy launch since 2022, no big deal.
Wood’s character Gemma’s got more issues than a therapist’s waiting room, but hey, at least she’s got David Morrissey as her long-lost dad to bumble through the madness with her. It’s like a family reunion, but with more laughs and fewer awkward silences.
Danielle Ward’s brainchild is getting six more episodes to make us snort-laugh and maybe shed a tear or two. With Fremantle pushing it globally, Daddy Issues might just become everyone’s favorite family therapy session.
