You might know Sophie Thatcher for playing Nat in Yellowjackets, Drash in The Book of Boba Fett, or most recently Sister Barnes alongside Chloe East and Hugh Grant in Heretic. But did you know she’s quite an artist as well? Besides releasing her debut single Black and Blue last month and showing off her musical side, she has also found a way to express her emotions through drawing.
Sophie has been using her Instagram as a platform to share some of her pieces for quite some time now, surprising her fans by showing that there is more to her than meets the eye. Her most recent charcoal drawing is a perfect example of that.
The drawing itself is chaotic, like something out of a dream, where the spectator’s eye can recognize the faces, but the bodies they are attached to are entangled into each other, creating a surreal and unsettling feeling of dread.
Not all of Sophie’s art is as dark, however. This is true both in terms of color and theme. Some of her collages present more of a peaceful atmosphere, which can even be seen in the use of brighter and richer colors, with nature as its core theme.
So if you enjoy Sophie’s art, check out her Instagram! You won’t regret it.
