Actor Ernie Hudson, best known for his role as Winston Zeddemore, a member of the Ghostbusters team (together with Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis), revealed some of his financial struggles at the beginning of his career during an interview with The Root on the occasion of the release of the new film “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire”
(2024). When he first earned a larger sum and was supposed to receive a $10,000 check for his work, he told his landlord that he would settle the rent owed once he received it. However, after his manager and other collaborators prioritized dividing the money among themselves, the actor was left with only $370, which wasn’t even enough to cover the overdue rent. However, with such problems behind him, after the success of the first “Ghostbusters” (1984) installment, which grossed over $297 million worldwide, Hudson perhaps no longer had to worry.
Besides the famous series, Ernie Hudson has appeared in films such as “The Crow” (1994), “You’re Not You” (2014), and “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous” (2005).
