From childhood fan to scaling the real Mount Doom, actress Emma Myers’ love for Lord of the Rings comes full circle in her latest New Zealand adventure. Known in reality as Mount Ngauruhoe, this 2,291-meter-tall active stratovolcano is part of the Tongariro volcanic complex. Steeped in Maori tradition and famed for its challenging climbs, Ngauruhoe offered Myers an authentic experience reminiscent of Middle-earth’s fiery mountain.
