Combster's PFW Designer Spotlight: Arturo Obegero
Inspired by the worlds of performing arts, surrealism, and the neo-noir aesthetic of Spanish culture, Obegero creates a romantic, sophisticated, and seductive wardrobe for both men and women.
Hailing from the bohemian coastal town of Tapia De Casariego in northern Spain, fashion designer Arturo Obegero has infused his eponymous label AO with the poetic essence of his upbringing.
Surrounded by the melancholic natural beauty of his hometown from a young age, Obegero’s sensibilities were further nurtured by his mother’s encouragement to pursue the performing arts, which have become a central influence on his creative vision.
After rigorously acquiring technical skills like pattern-cutting, Obegero went on to develop his distinctive design narrative at the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London.
Launching his label in 2020 amid the pandemic, Obegero has since presented his collections on the official Paris Fashion Week calendar, establishing himself as a rising talent in the luxury fashion arena.
