The singer and composer Eric Carmen (1949 - 2024), renowned for songs from the movies “Footloose” and “Dirty Dancing,” has passed away.
At the age of 74, singer Eric Carmen, renowned for hits like “Hungry Eyes”(1987) and “All By Myself” (1975), has left us forever. His wife Amy announced on the singer’s official website that her husband peacefully passed away in his sleep over the weekend.
Eric Carmen first gained prominence as the lead singer of the Raspberries. He embarked on a solo career in 1975, and within a year, he captivated audiences with songs like “All By Myself” and “Never Gonna Fall in Love Again.”
He is the author of the song “Almost Paradise” (1984), featured in the film “Footloose” (1984, directed by Herbert Ross).
A significant success came with his rendition of “Hungry Eyes” (1987) used in the film “Dirty Dancing” (1987, directed by Emile Ardolino) making it an unforgettable hit.
